Chercheur-doctorante et sociologue, je m’intéresse à la relation entre l’environnement physique et la vie sociale des espaces urbains. Après trois années d’études en architecture, je mène un doctorat en sociologie à l’Université de Copenhague sur le thème de la « dynamique socio-spatiale dans les espaces urbains ». J’analyse les réactions à la diversité sociale dans différents espaces urbains (selon leur conception et leur matérialité) et la façon dont cela influence les usages, les comportements sociaux et l’expérience de l’attachement au lieu. Je compare quatre contextes urbains différents : Place d’Israël (Copenhague), The Library Square (Copenhague), Pancras Square (Londres) et The High Line (New York).
Mes données consistent en des notes auto-ethnographiques, des mappages comportementaux et des entretiens in situ.
J’ai été invitée au CRH par Claire Lévy-Vroelant. J’y séjournerai durant le mois mai 2017.
I am a sociologist with a great interest in the relation between the physical environment and the social life of urban spaces. Prior to taking a bachelor and master in sociology at the University of Copenhagen, I have also studied architecture for three years in Copenhagen. I am now doing a PhD in sociology at the University of Copenhagen on the subject of ‘Socio-spatial dynamics in urban spaces’. In my PhD I analyse experiences and reactions upon social diversity in urban spaces and how this influences people’s use of urban spaces. In addition, I analyse how diverse user segments experience urban design characteristics and materiality differently which impacts upon their social behaviour and experience of place attachment.
I draw on data from four different urban settings ; Israel’s Square (Copenhagen), The Library Square (Copenhagen), Pancras Square (London) and The High Line (New York).
My data consists of auto-ethnographic notes, behavioral mappings and in-situ interviews.
I was introduced to CRH by Claire Lévy-Vroelant and will be at CHR as a visiting PhD Fellow during May.
